The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) comprises of 2 papers
The duration of the exam will be 3 hours for each papers
Exam Pattern: Jammu & Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination shall consist of two successive stages:
(a) Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for the main examination; and
(b) Combined Competitive (Main) Examination (written and interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts.
I. Preliminary Examination: The preliminary examination will consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry 450 marks. This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination shall count only for short-listing of the candidates for the Main Examination.

Note:
(i) Both the question papers will be of objective type (multiple choice question).
(ii) The question papers will be set in English.
(iii) The course content of the syllabi for the optional subjects will be of the degree level.
(iv) Each paper will be of two hours duration.
II. Main Examination: The Main Examination shall consist of a written test and an interview. The written test shall consist of question papers of descriptive type, out of which one paper shall be of qualifying nature only. The written examination shall consist of the following papers:

Note:
(i) Paper I on English will be of matriculation standard and will be of qualifying nature only. The marks obtained in this paper shall not count for ranking.
(ii) Interview test will carry 250 marks.

Note:
(i) For the language papers, the scripts to be used by the candidates will be as underLanguage Script

(ii) Candidates will not be allowed to offer the following combination of the subjects:-
(a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration.
(b) Commerce and Accountancy and Management.
(c ) Anthropology and Sociology
(d) Mathematics and Statistics.
(e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science.
(f) Management and Public Administration.
(g) Philosophy and Psychology.
(h) of the Engineering subject viz.
Civil Engineering. Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering not more than one subject.
(iii) The question papers for the examination will be of descriptive type.
(iv) Each paper will be of three hours duration.
(v) The question papers other than language papers will be set in English.
Note:
(i) Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no Circumstances, they will be allowed the help of a scribe to write the answers for them.
(ii) The Commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
(iii) If a candidate’s handwriting is not easily legible, a deduction will be made on this account from the total marks otherwise accruing to him.
(iv) Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.
(v) Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of the examination.

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission has invited the applications for Various CCE posts on jkpsc.nic.in. Huge number of candidates had applied for the posts.
Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Recruitment Board was set up on December 31, 1954. Subsequently with the coming into force of the "Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir State" on 26th of January 1957, "Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission" was established, under section 128 of the Constitution of J&K, on September 2, 1957, with Major General Yadev Nath Singh PVC, as it is first Chairman.
