East Central Railway (ECR) is an organization created after issue of letter no. E(NG)II/96/RR-1/62 dated 18.07.2005 by Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), New Delhi. The letter delegates powers to General Managers of Indian Railways for open market recruitments in Pay Band 1 + Grade Pay 1800/- (erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts). Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway performs the task of such recruitment on behalf of the General Manager, East Central Railway.
