Professor	Essential for Medical Candidates: A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the condition specified in section 13(3) of the Act). A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/ MS And/ Or M.Ch. for Surgical super – specialties and D.M. for Medical super specialties (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) Experience: 14 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S. (or) 12 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch./ D.M (2/ 5 years course after MBBS) (or) 11 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch./ D.M (3 years course) Essential for Non-Medical Candidates: A postgraduate qualification e.g. Masters degree in the concerned discipline. A doctorate degree from a recognized university Experience: 14 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the Doctorate Degree
Additional Professor	Essential for Medical Candidates (for General disciplines): 1 & 2 same as for Professor (Medical) Experience:10 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S. Essential for super specialty disciplines: Same as Professor (Medical) D.M. in the respective discipline/ subject for Medical Super-specialties and M.Ch. in the respective discipline/ subject for Surgical super-specialties (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) Experience: 8 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch./ D.M (2/ 5 years course after MBBS) (or) 7 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.Ch./ D.M (3 years course) Essential for Non- Medical Candidates: 1 & 2 are the same as for Professor (Non – Medical) Experience: 10 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the Doctorate Degree
Associate Professor	Essential for Medical Candidates (for General Disciplines): 1 & 2 same as for Professor (Medical). Experience: 6 years of teaching and/ or research experience after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./ M.S. Professor/ Additional Professor: Not exceeding 58 (Fifty-Eight) years as on closing date of submission of the online application form.
